RED Alert, as part of its transformation into a full facilities management company has expanded its Emergency Medical Services offering, setting up offices in Main Road Abbotsford in East London, Victoria Street in King Williams Town and the NU13 in Mdantsane.
“The rollout of new office hubs sees permanent crews stationed around the [East London] metro, providing much needed emergency support to the region,” the company said in a statement.
It now has three permanent crews with six ambulances and 20 medics on call. “The new locations are all fully compliant with the latest regulations which include ambulance wash-bays, medic accommodation and the mandatory sluice room. The state-of-the-art facilities are part of further expansion plans with other exciting announcements to follow shortly.”
The global Red Alert offering includes an away-from-home panic app which incorporates medical aid details so that in the event that patients are unable to speak for themselves, the company can contact the relevant medical aids directly.
“The launch of a new deployment system this month further enhances service delivery and speed of reaction through the use of geotagging. In essence, when the control room receives a call, the name and location of the caller is readily available, and the ambulance can be dispatched whist the call is still in progress,” the company said.
“This development means that the ER teams can get to the scene of the accident much quicker, saving precious time and saving more lives.”
