KEEPING its customers up-and-running during the lockdown and providing them with the same level of service and support that they are accustomed to has been a priority for Bobcat Equipment South Africa.
That’s according to National Operations Manager Brian Rachman, who said that an example of this its relationship with Drizit Environmental, a local manufacturer of pollution control products.
Drizit Environmental MD Greg Parton said, “Our relationship with Bobcat is recent, maybe less than 12 months. We thought its equipment would be really useful for our clean-up work, so we started off with two smaller Bobcat skidsteer loaders.”
The manoeuvrable Bobcat skidsteer loaders have a wide range of attachments to increase their versatility and flexibility. Drizit Environmental acquired a hydraulically driven angle broom attachment to assist in cleaning up oil and chemical spills on large road surfaces, such as following a tanker accident.
In such an eventuality, Drizit Environmental places absorbent material on the road surface to remove the excess oil or chemicals so as to render the road surface safe for traffic. This material is then cleared from the road by the skidsteer loader. Similar applications are cleaning up asbestos from contaminated sites.
Encouraged by the success of the Bobcat equipment, Drizit Environmental has just acquired two B730 tractor loader backhoes (TLBs) to be deployed on a major petrochemical pipeline project. The TLBs will be used to clear up any contaminated soil to ensure that the project site stays environmentally friendly.
Commenting on the company’s relationship with Bobcat, Parton said that it is a well-known brand with major traction in the market. “As a result, I have wanted to purchase Bobcat equipment for some time now. The service back-up is excellent. All promises made are followed up on and delivered quickly.”
Rachman said the Bobcat equipment not only represents a low total cost of ownership but is backed up by superlative aftersales support, a key differentiator for the company. “The fact that we have been able to meet this customer’s specific machine requirements for specialised hazmat clean-up services has resulted in a long-standing relationship,” he said.
Sales Representative Cindy Petersen said the main features of the Bobcat B730 TLB is its 7.5 kW gross power, which enhances its efficiency and productivity, and the fact that it is easy and simple to maintain and has low operating costs. “We offer a robust, high-quality product range, as proven by the fact that Bobcat is the global industry leader with over 50% market share.
“Apart from the excellent products we have on offer, people buy from people, and Greg has come to appreciate our commitment to always honouring our promises to him. As with any client, downtime is critical. The fact that we have parts readily available and qualified diesel mechanics to respond to breakdowns and services is key to supporting our customers,” she said.
